Fresh Berries Socks pattern.

After a pair of lacy spring socks comes the time for  some warm socks knitted up in sports weight yarn, again in the Fruity Socks series.

Fresh Berries Socks are a pair of cuff down socks with short row heel and wide toe (closed with grafting). The pattern contains detailed shaping instructions with a row by row short-row heel, a stitch guide and all stitch patterns both charted and written.

On the leg, you'll find a leaf on the front and back just above the heel. Clusters of berries figure on the sides and are made in bobbles. The top of the foot is a texture soothing to knit and the sole is in stockinette.

Techniques used: knit/purl in the round, knit through the back loop, increase/decrease, bobbles, short row heel, grafting.

Gauge: 28 stitches and 35 rows = 4 inches in stockinette.
Size: Woman medium (8” around foot) To modify size, check gauge then go down (smaller) or up (larger) a needle size. Easy tip!
Tools: Size US 2 1/2 / 3 mm (or size to get gauge) set of 5 DPNs, 2 circular needles or 1 long circular for magic loop; tapestry needle; scissors; 1 stitch marker.
